Background

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in both public settings and private practice, supporting adults, couples and families struggling with mental health and relationship issues within the demands of modern daily living.  I graduated from the University of Auckland with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, but I also have previous post-graduate qualifications in Education. As well as being a member of the New Zealand Psychology Society, I am a Registered member of the New Zealand Clinical Psychology Society, Accredited EMDR Therapist, ACC registered for sensitive claims, a registered Family Court Report Specialist and a member of Couples’ Therapy, New Zealand.

Approach

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is essential and as such, strive to provide a respectful, trusting, accepting, safe environment that will empower and support each of my clients towards developing deeper self-awareness, confidence and understanding of themselves. Drawing from my personal and professional experience, I am passionate about supporting each of my clients create effective strategies to manage the underlying issues that may be contributing to their current struggles, so that they may live a meaningful life and ultimately reach their potential.

I use concepts from a variety of evidence-based therapies tailored to meet the needs of my clients. These include: Attachment Informed Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (AI-EMDR), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT),  Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT) and different mindfulness processes depending on the individuals need Couples/Relationship Therapy (Developmental/Attachment Model)

Fees

Individual Therapy:      $220 (incl GST) for a 55-minute appointment;

Couple Therapy:            $260 (incl GST) for a 55-minute appointment.

Fees are payable by bank transfer or cash prior to or at the time of the appointment. Invoices are only provided when requested. I am registered with Southern Cross and some other medical insurers. Please check with your insurer if this applies to you.

There is no charge if you cancel your appointment up to the day before. However, if a cancellation is made on the day of the appointment or there is a failure to attend a booked session a full fee will apply.
