Approach

I provide a genuine and compassionate approach where we can safely explore and understand the challenges you face. We will work together to develop ways for you to move forward in a practical and meaningful way. I have extensive experience of working with people on how to successfully navigate today’s fast paced and highly demanding environment, in both their professional and personal lives.

Many people also find it useful to have an independent and confidential place to reflect on how their lives are tracking and have support to make any changes they want to make.

Areas of Specialisation

I work with adults who are experiencing,

  • Work related challenges (e.g., work stress, redundancy, retirement, work life balance)
  • Other problems in their lives (e.g., relationship difficulties, loss and grief, life transitions, behaviours they would like to change).
  • Mental health difficulties (e.g., anxiety, depression)
  • To thrive in their life (e.g., to be happier, more fulfilled, more able to achieve their full potential)

I use evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Mindfulness based practices.

Qualifications

I am a New Zealand-trained Registered Clinical Psychologist, with a PhD in Psychology (2009) and a Diploma of Clinical Psychology (2010) from Victoria University of Wellington. I also completed Mindfulness Teacher Training at Bangor University, Wales (2013). I am a full member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists and the New Zealand Association of Positive Psychology.
